Last week, Maxwell turned 10-months old.
Maxwell’s 10th month began with a string of days with his parents off work for the Christmas holiday break. These were some of the most challenging for us. Napping was the biggest issue, and he continued to fight it the entire month. Otherwise, it was so much fun for us to be home with him and experience his routines for more than 2-days at a time.
We spent Max’s first Christmas at home. It was low-key and relaxing for us all. Colin joined us on Christmas Eve for gift opening with Max – and all gifts were thoroughly enjoyed.
Maxwell’s birth year was brought to a close by ringing in the New Year in with Grandma Nancy, Grandpa Don, Colin and Rupy (Colin’s lady friend) – by way of dancing. We drank champagne and danced in our living room while Max slept in his bedroom. We had a lot of fun!
Brendan took Max to his first ever swim lesson this month. Max was a bit frightened, but eased into it by the end of the first class. The lessons are something we all look forward to doing together this winter.
Most recently, Max spent a week with Grandma Linda (my mom) when she came to help me while Brendan was out of town for a week. Since her visit, Max started drinking from a cup, and giving real kisses and hugs. It was so wonderful to have my mom here to experience this little boy. He is such a joy – and she emphasized that by stating over and over what a happy and cheerful baby he is!
