Max is walking. He has it down - and is now attempting running which ends up in wipeouts. He bounces back quite well – and has not had many injuries. We love the new stage.
He mimics animal sounds: Lion (taught by Grandma Linda), Duck, Elephant (his best performance that includes an arm flying up in the air - taught by uncle Doug), Mouse (taught by auntie Megan), Snake, Cow, Monkey, Cat, and Dog.
He is quick to point to his nose, eyes, ears, teeth, mouth, toes, knees, elbows and belly button - and has been doing this for a few months. Max is quick to learn the meaning of new words and it only takes once or twice before he knows what it means.
Maxwell Q. is learning to pick up after himself and we have made fun games out of it. He loves putting things into containers so we have that advantage. Last weekend we toured a pre-school/daycare and each time he removed things from their place, he returned them easily with our prompting.
He has his own Detroit Tiger's cap - just like his Dad and went to a San Jose "little" Giants game.
Maxwell has recently gotten many new things to play with including the sandbox, a pool, and a tent. With all this - books remain his favorite. He loves books.
Of late, Max is a little fussier with his food choices. Best of all he loves fruit and berries. We have noticed that he is aware of textures and not quite sure what to make of them. Sometimes it takes a few tries before he realizes that he actually likes it.
We have noticed much babbling and nonsense talking lately. He is expressive and uses intonation much like our own. So, even though he babbles, we can hear the expressiveness of his voice. He definitely understands what we are saying and follows commands and requests with ease. He learns new sign language within hours.
Max continues to be a happy baby – moving toward “toddler”. We look forward to it all yet embrace the moments.
